Men’s Life Groups

P. K. Bernard once said, “…a man without a vision is a man without a future and a man without a future will always go back to his past.” Can a man live all his days to keep his fingernails clean and trim? Is that what a man dreams of? By nature men are drawn to gather, hunt, explore, adventure, and conquer – we want to give ourselves to a mission, to a significant purpose. We each have been created by God to spend ourselves in a worthy cause.

As we go our daily routine we often find different kinds of men all around us; among them we find many who are frustrated, discouraged, disillusioned, confused, afraid of the future, lonely, with huge debts, and riddled with guilt and shame over poor decisions. They are trapped in destructive cycles… like divorce, poverty, adultery, pornography, fatherlessness, abuse, alcohol, drugs, disrespect for authority, and truancy, to name a few.

The question which arises is “Where have the men gone? What has happened to their dreams? At the root of virtually every problem is the failure of a man- ironically a man who got up this morning wishing that his life would make a difference. These are not bad men, what they lack is something stronger beyond themselves, a purpose for which they will live and die for, that will motivate them beyond their strength. Patrick Morley once said, “I would rather die for a worthy cause than live for no reason.”

The Men Life Groups are about restoring men their identity in the image of God, giving them a purpose which is beyond themselves and their routine. Being connected to a lifesaving support system, a mission in life, to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. In that process, we are about growing men, making them better fathers and husbands, better workers, better leaders, better administrators of their finances, restoring their marriages and giving them a stronger spiritual satisfaction and a sense of calling from the Lord.

That is why we invite every man to come and find their purpose, their dreams, and to find themselves a better man as part of this journey. We agree with Martin Luther King, Jr statement, “If a man has not discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.

No man fails on purpose….
